Omnifactory power generation reddit In the beta I used my first Steam Dynamo pretty far by just adding power augments to it. It was overall a very fun pack which encouraged automation and had some unique mechanics built in. I've been using a pyrolose oven into a bronze blast furnace into steam turbines, but because there is no way to automate wood easily, I can't really do that. To get out 25k RF/t you'll probably need several big tree farms running. 2 LV machines are the same as one MV, but used half the power. The math is that one Self-Aware (max tier) enderman data model can support 8 total sim chambers (. They create local power caches that are difficult to manage as your base grows. I understand there's a 4:1 RF:EU conversion, I get the excitation coil has to be touching whatever I want it to power, I get that the Steam Dynamo obviously has to have solid fuel (coal, charcoal, etc) to power it, and finally I get that with wiring I have to match or exceed the amperage. As the title says, I'm playing Omnifactory. Omnifactory takes a lot of the grind out of gregtech in terms of resource collection while keeping all of the core mechanics and machine progression intact. I use one for my UU matter setup: 8 stoneworks w/ max speed upgrades each with an overclocked recycler on top. They could nerf Numis to an MV and maybe HV power source and buff any Gregtech power sources as needed since they're generally harder to set up so they should provide more power. If there will be four or less, use a 4x CEF. But in the 1. Speaking of power, we invested early and heavily into solar panels and had ample power. We also optimise Jun 2, 2021 · While the diesel power setup was the most orthodox, the solar power setup may have been one of the most successful. But my lava doesnt seem enough. 3*6*4 = 8 - 30% chance of pristine, 6 pearls per pristine, 4 polymer clay per pearl means 8 total simulators running), so you should hit self-sustaining very quickly with just an enderman model (even a 5% chance of pristine matter can sustain 1. Jan 29, 2020 · There's not much guessing to be had. I currently only have 4 steam dynamos (No upgrades) and the only power storage I have is the CEF the questbook says to make. Jan 29, 2020 · Boosting mid-game solars (but not too much) could be a good way to make sure that no single power gen is the ultimate meta and that several options should be combined to create a decent (mid-tier) power gen. So i'm right at the start of Omnifactory and i've just made a blast furnace. RF/FE based energy conduits max transfer rate is per connection. For example, you may have your diesel generators only come on when you are below 70% Once you have a system like this in place, you should be able to see the health of your whole system by looking at just how much power is in your main After many AE shutdowns and machines lacking power I set up a dedicated power lines My AE system uses magmatic generators with a enegetic capacitor 1st Sugar Cane Steam Power with energetic capacitor LV CEF - LV machines for manual processing. Now I have started over fresh with the 1. Omnifactory - Blast Furnace always is "Running out of power" but my battery bank is always full or has power to spare. Nice for some power and the charcoal is handy as well. It has a voltage out of 128. Oct 28, 2015 · In terms of fairly early power, I like to make a big tree farm (with MFR) for wood, which I then turn into charcoal, and then burn for RF (either directly, or indirectly by making steam). These guys can burn diamonds for a massive amount of RF generation and will be the backbone of your power generation through most of the pack. I was wondering how many of you guys do RF -> EU rather than try to use GT's power generation mechanics. GT:NH is a much harder pack from what I’ve heard but I can’t say much about it since I Mekanism ethylene can support two (maybe more?) maxed out generators (manyllyun turbines give most power but you can opt for steel turbines to set them up earlier). Haven't played in like a year, but when I did the boilers were plenty to get me to Numismatic Dynamos with infinite diamond generation through DML. This incentivizes using multiple machines rather than an improved tier of machine in some cases, but generally yes just using a higher tier machine is more convenient. So I am in the middle of my first time playing omnifactory. 5% power loss. To make water mills. I use ethanol in a large bronze boiler, and gregtech steam turbines to generate power. Even though its material costs greatly outweighed its benefits, it allowed us to progress through EV and even touch on IV relatively unimpeded. I am just starting using the resonator to do begin making red coal since I heard it is needed. The CEF is getting enough RF/its buffer is full. I played Omnifactory a lot in the beta and then stopped for a while. The amount of power you get out of magmatics isn't that great compared to numismatics. Not to mention the mining of GTNH is vastly more annoying than it was in Omnifactory at least. Problem This is just a dumb thing, but it seems like the blastfurnace is unncessarily using an insane amount of power or it just never has enough power no matter how much power i create. Don't depend on batteries. One bronze boiler can supply 14 lv turbines making 32 EU/t each. The subreddit for all things related to Modded Minecraft for Minecraft Java Edition --- This subreddit was originally created for discussion around the FTB launcher and its modpacks but has since grown to encompass all aspects of modding the Java edition of Minecraft. Jul 7, 2019 · Diesel (usually cetane boosted) is generally the EV power source for GTCE, the multiblock engine produces 3A EV (6144 EU/t) when boosted with oxygen, and diesel goes a LONG way so it’s easy to keep up with production. The first tier for example is 512 so that is 512 for each connection, so you can attach that conduit to 4 sides of a capacitor bank and it will have a total of 2048 rf/t running through it (provided the capacitor bank can provide that much) and be able to power 4 Jun 2, 2021 · While the diesel power setup was the most orthodox, the solar power setup may have been one of the most successful. [Omnifactory] Trouble progressing past HV Power, lack of quest descriptions troubling Just to preface, I am by no means good at Modded Minecraft. Numismatics consuming diamonds will be your main power generation through to mid-late game. Upside, easy to run, cheap, virtually unlimited power bandwidth. It all started with our first power setup, which probably looked a lot like most people's: a steam dynamo (upgraded in boiler/turbine pairs) or six connected to an endervoir and burning solid fuel. I reach mobe simulator and learn how to automatic sustain it with ender pearls on creative. The optimal power progression system in Omnifactory: Steam Dynamos (early) Sets of Boiler + 2 Turbine Augmented Steam Dynamos (LV) Numismatic Dynamos (MV - LuV) Solars or Plasma (LuV - UV) Creative Power As CEFs are available, powergen in Nomifactory is almost entirely RF. NuclearCraft is a step in the right direction. Early MV and until lategame: Numismatic dynamos. I'm wondering what power I should go for next. My first power option after the steam dynamo was Magmatic, I'm approaching HV Tier machines and I'm still running just three Upgraded Magmatic Dynamos for my power needs with a Ender Tank+Pump set up in the Nether. For power generation, you may have something that uses resources and you only want it to run when necessary. This being the case, some of the decisions we made for power generation were unorthodox at best and completely blasphemous at worst. Not for the power it generates but the higher-tier fission byproducts are needed in the higher-tier solar panels. Edit:typo Circuits are still hard. I don't know how soon I should really invest in AE2 auto-crafting. There's just a few things I don't really understand: Eventually you'll start making some power-hungry machines such as the DML simulation chambers. It's at this point that I start gunning for numismatic dynamos. I usually switch over to solar panels when I can reliably autocraft tier 7 or so. It has upsides and downsides. To my knowledge, at most points in GT progression you should be able to scale your power gen to match the demands of your base, making huge power buffers (like draconic core size) unnecessary. Jun 2, 2021 · While the diesel power setup was the most orthodox, the solar power setup may have been one of the most successful. You're going to want your machines running at full speed, and Omnifactory is about scaling up power generation and resource gathering, not micro-efficiency tweaking. Pretty sure that's the intended next step. We also optimise Hey, so ive picked up this pack recently and been playing with it and its been quite fun but i have ran into an issue with the CEF (LV) not outputting power to my wire mill even when there is power stored inside the battery in the CEF, the only time my wiremill will recive power is when i put fule inside the dynamo then as soon as it stops producing rf everything dies even though there is Posted by u/cube1234567890 - 336 votes and 22 comments Age of Engineering is a relatively linear tech progression that shifts focus from mod to mod with a few running throughout. 2. So if your powere backed up inside the dynamo for whatever reason, it will still be held inside and not output to a cable or adjacent block until you toss a new combustible into it. This is my first large modded pack I've decided to tackle (Yeah, probably not the best one to start with but Dire made it look fun) and I'm having a great time with it. I don't recall if lava is easily generated but I don't think it's as easy as the DML route. Even Lava would be much much more "annoyance-free" - it is self-sustaining of course, but setup and resources needed make it completely not worth it. (left over from early game) 2nd Sugar Cane Steam Power with energetic capacitor Omnifactory offers an "easy fix" for GT power though RF, making people totally dependent on RF. Better machines are 2x faster but use 4x the power, making me feel like it was a waste. It does however consume 4x the power each tier, so it does use relatively more power than you gain in speed. I was able to manually mill for stoneburnt. Power is usually stored in vibrant capacitor banks (they can form multiblocks), and transferred through EnderIO conduits or AE2 power P2P tunnels to (batteryless) CEFs. Hi, I am a nub in all the modepack thing but I really enjoying omnifactory. If the recipe takes 816 EU/t or less, then for every 4x power the machine can provide the time is halved, with a total EU cost doubling (1/2 times 4 = 2). Get on the "automate all the things" train early and never leave. I have been using MV Advanced pumps to pump lava to an ender tank at nether. Making enough crafting patterns to do anything with seems daunting. 0 release. Hello I'm playing omnifactory (dunno the version) Im in late MV stages and I'm using magmatic dynamos with Isentropic Reservoir augment to generate power but i started using more machines and ran out of power so i put down more of them. 4 simulation chambers on average, but you can run For anyone scanning for Omnifactory and reading through this, a steam dynamo does not output power unless it is actively burning something. Upgrading the dynamos seems good, but they need way more fuel which i don't think I can automate. Downside, if your AE network goes down, your power does too. Currently, I am struggling with finding a way to well automate gregtech power. In this playthrough I did that and did a mixture of woods as well as charcoal generation. 0 release power augments require sterling silver which require a lot more power to make. I’ve been relying mostly on a vibrant capacitor multiblock that I just expanded to 12 total, but I’m only just starting into IV so I don’t know if NuclearCraft is a step in the right direction. Attempts to fix the power generation gap between HV and LuV, generating 30720 EU/t while treating your Nitro-Diesel with higher efficiency, prepare your titanium! • The quest book has been severely revamped by merging the recent collective work from Omnifactory; even prettier than before, even more helpful quests pin-pointing various The subreddit for all things related to Modded Minecraft for Minecraft Java Edition --- This subreddit was originally created for discussion around the FTB launcher and its modpacks but has since grown to encompass all aspects of modding the Java edition of Minecraft. Single input per p2p channel, and if you move your input you need to reprogram all your outputs. Caves are never ending in this pack making it easier to find ores and also the ore generation seems to be more common than usual in GregTech. Apr 3, 2021 · Today, we upgrade our power generation by building the plasma turbines, fueled by the Mk3 Fusion Reactor, to be able to handle the energy requirements of future crafting steps. Otherwise use a 16x CEF. I pipe the steam from the boiler around the base and convert steam to power where the machines are. The Nether's not as scary as some, but I've only needed to visit to set up the pump. An example: In my first attempt at the pack I didn't bother to automate wood (& resin) production. Nomifactory power generation methods As CEFs are available, powergen in Nomifactory is almost entirely RF. I make ethanol from sugercane on snad in four fermenters, supplying a distiller. Although automation is important, it's not integral to the pack. One other thing I found to be annoying with GTNH was the overclocking mechanic going into MV. For anyone who has played Omnifactory, should I wait? If the other mods weren't present they'd be one of only a couple of choices for generation of power and there has to be a reason why they were designed that way. [Omnifactory] Power options? I'm currently at tier of using numismatics and I have like 30 of them powering base but diamond upkeep even with almost 60 shulker chambers isn't enough, what options are viable near mid game+ so I know what I can work towards Omnifactory is a tech only pack that has gt at its core, it’s really the only similarity omnifactory is about automation Gtnh is about earning your machinery Omnifactory has lots things to get you into electricity really quick Gtnh you can be a week or more before your first electric appliance TLDR: Omnifactory good, gtnh better Omnifactory has GregTech: Community Edition as the main mod but from the quest book, you immediately get 4 diamond hammers which mine a 3 x 3 area. The reason I never went with lava was because moving a pump every x minutes is not ideal. As far as I'm concerned GT based power is an integral part of GT, it scales up nicely through the tiers, RF only seems like it scales up but only up to a certain point, soon you'll reach high tiers and suffer big time. But then again, we're talking about plastering the roof of our 51x39 factory with panels! After we made the creative tank and switched most of our resources to infinite-tanked liquids, my poor server (an old laptop) started to permanently lag. They have unlimited throughput and are limited by each connection. For example a CEF that outputs 4x power to a line of 4 machines using 4x cables that have a loss-per-block of 1 can only support 2 machines -- the first machine gets 1/4 power, the second gets 2/3 power, the third gets 3/2 power (and thus none), and the last is totally SOL. For extra power, you can try processing the extra saplings as well. (LV can provide 32, so the recipe time is halved once; HV can provide 512, so the recipe time is halved three times There's plenty of vids of Omnifactory. I made a few then the grid power just stopped generating. Its probably possible to improve generation efficiency with a Boiler and Turbines combo or some other option, but with Diesel Generators its definitely garbage tier power gen. We also optimise. While the posts so far are mostly right, you should join r/omnifactory. the cable has a max voltage of 128, an Amperage of 4 and no power loss per block. Nov 13, 2020 · NuclearCraft is a step in the right direction. Throttle power to the matfab and it gives me about 1mb/s. I have Plastic Circuit Boards automated, but I still feel like Teir 3 circuits are very expensive to make. In my experience though dropping CEFs and/or transformers is better, especially if you're generating RF from a non-Thermal Expansion source. My plan was, to use magnetic Dynamo to generate power and train the ender model, then switching to diamond generator. Btw Thorium is a renewable resource in Omnifactory (from Granite, which you can get from the Ingenious Extruder). These are Apr 3, 2021 · Today, we upgrade our power generation by building the plasma turbines, fueled by the Mk3 Fusion Reactor, to be able to handle the energy requirements of fut Oct 28, 2015 · In terms of fairly early power, I like to make a big tree farm (with MFR) for wood, which I then turn into charcoal, and then burn for RF (either directly, or indirectly by making steam). Reply reply Late game you need a ton of power generation which isn't really feasible with Gregtech's power system unless you want to build a massive, most likely complex, system. A x4 energetic alloy cable runs from it to the machines. Might be able to supplement with magmatic dynamos for a bit, but really Numis are going to carry you through at least to diesel, but probably through to what early game reliable power generation did you guys have in omnifactory? I am looking at 2 steam turbines because they generate about 64 EU/t and only take ~6 high pressure steam boilers that can be supplied with sugar cane and water. I have the following setup: A CEF(MV) with 4 slots providing power. dxh zesvv orlp obzhy cnfddaj cmvcg goona ibnqctw lbwlfso lqve
