I'm trying to reduce temps of my 7700HQ and i've read that changing the max cpu usage in power plan from 100% to 99% disable the turbo, but after some try, also at 80% setted on power plan the cpu always go at max turbo frequencies and work with very hot temps, 92-97 degree during gaming and 95 degree during cinebench test. Doing so will give you lower temps and shouldn't result in an fps in gpu bound games. I have an i7-8750H(6 cores, 2. 10, but I have tried this on fedora 35, 34, ubuntu 20. I tried running geek bench and it seemed the multi core score dropped from 8000ish to 6000ish.
